BREAKING: Confusion As Gunmen Strike, Abduct 14 JAMB Candidates In Benue

No fewer than fourteen (14)  candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have been abducted by unidentified gunmen.

 

It was gathered that the commercial vehicle conveying the candidates was ambushed by their abductors.

 

 

According to reports, the commercial vehicle was  travelling from Makurdi to Otukpo in the state.

 

As expected the victims are largely young adults travelling to Otukpo where they were scheduled to sit for their examinations on Thursday.

 

There are speculations that a smatterings of other passengers travelling for other purposes were also in the vehicle.

 

 

Confirming the development to journalists in Makurdi, the chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, said the victims were heading to the town for their examinations when the attackers struck.

 

“The victims are young people coming to Otukpo to write JAMB. Security agents have been deployed and efforts are ongoing to rescue them,” Ogiri said.
