Makinde Orders Demolition Of Building Used As Kidnappers’ Hideout in Adelabu Family Abducti

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has ordered the demolition of the apartment where the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and his twin sons were held captive by their abductors..
The apartment, a three-bedroom bungalow, is located in the Lako Community, Aiyegun- Anaye road area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Our correspondent gathered that the demolition exercise was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation.
According to our correspondent, the state officials were accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who visited the scene as part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.
Peoplestemplate reports that, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted at Elewura, Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Three days after their abduction, a team of police officers who had been on the trail of the kidnappers, stormed theiir hideout, engaged the abductors in a gun duel before rescuing those in their captivity.
Two of the abductors were killed during the gun duel.
While defending the action, Makinde said the move underscores its administration’s commitment to combating insecurity and dismantling criminal networks operating within Oyo State.
