‘Only Foolish People Will Say That’ — Kwankwaso Dismisses Allegation Of Working For Tinubu
By Olumuyiwa Olumuyiwa
Former Kano governor has dismissed the allegation that he is subtly working for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Kwankwaso noted that the allegation, though untrue, is not new, adding that it dates back to his time in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
The ex-Kano governor made this known during an interview on Global Television on Wednesday,
While reacting to the allegation, Kwankwaso said only foolish people would say that.
He added that the outcome of the 2027 election and his commitment to the victory of his new party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), will prove to people that he takes his opposition to the Tinubu administration seriously.
“I think only foolish people would believe that.
“They have been saying it, especially when we are in the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP. Now, they will realize we are very serious people.
“I’m not conversant with anybody working for anyone. We are working for the NDC and our blueprint is there for everybody to see.
“They are things like what we intend to do, ranging from tackling the insecurity to the issue of education among others.” Kwankwaso said.
The NDC Chieftain was reacting to the allegation levelled against him by Sanusi Bature, spokesman of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, that he is working behind the scenes to ensure the victory of Tinubu in 2027.
“There are those who are working with Tinubu openly, directly in the public space, and there are those who can work for Tinubu behind the scenes.
“I believe whatever Kwankwaso is doing will favour Tinubu at the end of the day because Kwankwaso worked for Tinubu in 2023.
“I’m a member of the APC; I have been the opposition spokesperson in Kano, and I know what happened in 2023. I believe Kwankwaso is working for Tinubu in 2027 behind the scenes.” Bature was quoted to have said.
