Soldiers, Vigilantes, Others Killed As Bandits Attack Kwara Communities Again

Bandits went on the rampage on Kemanji village located in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State leaving a trail of casualties.
Peoples Template gathered that the attack was nocturnal and well-coordinated catching the residents of the community off guard.
According to a source, the bandits launched their attack at about 3am on Monday, adding that apart from residents of the village, soldiers and local vigilantes were killed in the course of the operation.
Our source noted that most of the soldiers and vigilantes were killed during an intense gun duel with the armed bandits which lasted for 2hours.
However, the full extent óf the damage inflicted on the community could not be ascertained as of press time.
This attack is the latest episode in a series of relentless attacks that have been foisted on communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Recall that in February, armed bandits invaded Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, killing scores, burning houses and abducting over 100 residents who are still in captivity.
The attacks were reportedly orchestrated by an Islamic sect who visited the communities to preach a religious ideology residents considered evil and thereby rejected.
It was also gathered that it was a black Sunday for residents of Ora Ayegbaju in Obbo-Ile, Ekiti local government area as suspected bandits also attacked the community.
Three brothers were fatally injured during the attack which occurred at about 22:00hrs, while others fled for safety.
The three injured were identified as AbdulJareem Adamu, AbdulJareem Yunusa and AbdulJareem Yusuf.
The three injured brothers are currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Osi town.
